Lisa first caught my attention when she sat in on a song at Coldwater Country Club. I think it was a Whitney Houston song. She was working as a waitress at the time and all the other waitresses were telling me this girl could sing and I should give her a chance. I did and she can. She gave me a little shiver up my spine. So, I knew I wanted her to be my singer. She has only blossomed since then. Lisa has been a school teacher since then and is currently raising her two cutie little daughters Anna and Sophie.
Roger
Roberts is not only a great singer, but also a fantastic sax
player as well.
We met in around 1994 when we were playing in a classic rock and blues band.
We played in the band for a short while and one day I asked him to join me for a gig in Fort Wanye Indiana, as a two-piece. He agreed, so I put together some songs for him to sing. We had no rehearsal, but the night was a resounding success.
Everyone loves Roger and he's a real piece of work. His stage presence, facial expressions and quick humored remarks make him a special entertainer.
Jessica Burnham
is the newest and youngest member of my musical family. She has a distinctive
style and an ability to improvise rather effortlessly.
Dave Webber, a friend of mine, turned me on to her when he brought me a CD of her singing a cut from his bands latest works. It sounded great and Dave pointed out that she had nailed the vocal track on the second run in the studio.
I asked her to try a gig with me at Don Hall’s Guest House, Fort Wayne. That was a Tuesday night, as I recall. Now keep in mind that Fort Wayne is 60 miles from Coldwater, the place was half full with her friends and family. The night was a success and Jessica has done 8 or 10 gigs in the past few months and gathered quite a following already.
